JP Recommends Watermelon Fruitz for a Sultry Summer
In the June 24 edition of the Jerusalem Post, Fashion Writer Adi Zohar sums up 2011 beach fashion ever so eloquently:
“The end of June marks the onslaught of summer, with sizzling hot days and the bright sun that beats down for hours on end. This is the time to wear as little clothing as possible and outfit yourself with the best that beach fashion has to offer, accompanied by accessories such as bags, matching shirts, flip flops and watches that look like watermelon…This year, there’s a huge, colorful and vibrant collection, and many items have print designs or cheerful floral decorations.”
According to Zohar, this year’s summer beach fashion must-haves include:
- A Glick swimsuit, “which invites us to be bold on the beach, at the pool or on the deck of a ship”
- An “attractive light, floral tunic”
- A “buttoned blouse…with UV filters that prevent harmful rays from passing through the fabric”.
- “A striped straw hat”,
- “A handmade woven basket”
- Hot sandals launched by Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen with “a delicate floral texture and a gold bow for a casual but elegant look”
- Eau de l’Orangerie from Lancome
And yes… it’s “time for fruit”.
In particular, the Fruitz Watermelon Watch. Zohar believes that “fresh, juicy and colorful, the Fruitz watch from Philip Stein looks like a refreshing watermelon. It is the perfect item to wear on sultry days.”
