PINA COLADA

Hey there!  I am the official beverage of Puerto Rico, the Piña Colada, Spanish for “strained pineapple”.  I am a charmingly sweet blend of pineapple juice, cream of coconut and hard rum.  I was born on August 16^th, 1954, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  I was conceived as a result of the hotel management at the Caribe Hilton’s Beachcomber Bar asking Ramon “Monchito” Marrero to create a new drink that would satisfy the hotel’s glamorous clientele.  It took Monchito three months of experimenting, shaking and blending until I was actually created.  I am the perfect watch for the proclaimed, and self-proclaimed, dazzling and glamorous!
