TEQUILA SUNRISE

Hello!  I am the Tequila Sunrise, concocted at the Arizona Biltmore in the late 1930s by bartender Gene Sulit, who was asked by a frequent guest for a refreshing poolside surprise.  Originally, I was made from tequila, lime juice, crème de cassis and soda water.  I have evolved into a combination of orange juice, tequila and grenadine.  I became really popular through the Eagles’ 1973 “Tequila Sunrise” single and the through the 1988 film “Tequila Sunrise” featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and Mel Gibson.  My orange sunrise colors are well suited to people who are refreshingly positive, who have the strength to break through any gloominess!
